Karan Raj Singh is a skilled and experienced professional with over 7 years of relevant experience in the field of software engineering, data science, and research. He is currently working as a Project Assistant at the Indian Institute of Science, where he has been actively involved in large scale computational statistics. Karan has developed fast algorithms using hierarchical matrix approximations for processing dense covariance kernel matrices arising in Bayesian machine learning. Prior to his current role, Karan worked as a Software Engineer at Ericsson, where he contributed to numerous features of the Java-based OpenDaylight and Ericsson's proprietary SDN controllers. He added several features to the Beryllium and Boron versions of the controller, such as updating the operational data store of the SDN controller with the updates from hardware Virtual Tunnel End Points (VTEPs), building and removal of external tunnels from Data Path Nodes (DPNs) to DC Gateway, enabling Subnet Routing feature in the VPN service module of the SDN controller, and enhancing the scalability of Subnet Routing feature by utilizing Java Futures and Callback routines. Karan also has experience in analog VLSI design research, where he developed a novel variant of the traditional RNM compensation technique for three-stage operational amplifiers. He utilized the Embedded CM technique to improve the performance of a traditional RNM compensated op-amps, which offered several key advantages such as the use of extremely small valued compensation capacitors, great reduction in the chip area, and the ability to operate on a wide range of load capacitors. Karan holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BITS Pilani, where he also worked as an Analog VLSI Design Researcher. He has a strong tech stack that includes Java, ML, Data Scientist, Software Engineer, test, and Research Scientist.
